Recommended dosage: 1-2 tablets daily during meals. In severe conditions, up to 5 tablets per day as needed.

What is Lactoferrin?

Lactoferrin is a multifunctional protein from the transferrin family (carrier of trace elements in the blood, such as iron, copper, and zinc), naturally occurring in the human body, found in exocrine secretions, and primarily in blood plasma and white blood cells. Lactoferrin is present in small amounts in all body fluids and is part of innate immunity.

Why is ESSENS Lactoferrin Tablets unique?

Lactoferrin consists of 700 amino acids. The Lactoferrin in ESSENS products is derived from bovine milk because it closely resembles human Lactoferrin and has demonstrated similar efficacy in comparative tests. Human and bovine Lactoferrin differ by only 2 amino acids, whereas among individuals, it can vary by up to 8 amino acids. A crucial parameter is the nativity of Lactoferrin (native means it is not destroyed by heat, enzymes, or chemicals during processing). Therefore, we emphasize that Lactoferrin is processed using top-notch technology from fresh milk, not whey, which is a by-product of dairy production.

Another important factor for high-quality Lactoferrin is the degree of iron (as well as copper or zinc) saturation for optimal regulation and maintenance of stable levels of these trace elements in the body. Under normal circumstances, Lactoferrin saturation fluctuates between 10-30%. If Lactoferrin is more than 80% saturated with iron, its effectiveness significantly decreases. Our Lactoferrin undergoes strict iron saturation control and has a value of only 23%, which is very low. The Lactoferrin molecule also has the significant advantage of being more stable against acids and enzymes. Lactoferrin remains active and effective within secretions. The binding of iodine and selenium significantly improves the therapeutic properties of the final product. Cherry fruit extract contains natural water-soluble glycosidic pigments (responsible for the red and blue-purple color of the fruit) and various aglycone structures (pelargonidin, cyanidin, delphinidin, peonidin, petunidin, and malvidin), which are beneficial for maintaining good condition.

ESSENS Lactoferrin Tablets are created using a special SOFT tableting technology. This is a specific production process that prevents denaturation and thus maintains the activity of Lactoferrin.
